 Course Overview
 

           Red Hat JBoss Application Administration II (JB348) prepares experienced system administrators to provision and manage Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 in large-scale production environments.

Audience

• Experienced system administrators responsible for deploying and administering JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 6 in large-scale production environments
•  At least 2 years of experience as a JBoss Enterprise Application Platform administrator

Prerequisites For This Exam

•  Red Hat JBoss Application Administration I (JB248) (highly recommended)
•  Red Hat Certified JBoss Administrator (RHCJA) Enterprise Application Platform 6status is recommended but not required; students should at least be able to accomplish the tasks associated with the JBCAA EAP 6 exam (EX248)

Exam Format                    

•   The RHCJA II exam is a performance-based evaluation of a candidate's skills and knowledge regarding the administration of enterprise applications based on and using JBoss EAP.
•   Candidates perform a number of routine system administration tasks and are evaluated on whether they have met specific objective criteria.
•  Performance-based testing means that candidates must perform tasks similar to what they must perform on the job.
•   The RHCJA exam is a hands-on, practical exam that lasts 4 hours. Internet access is not provided during the exam. You will not be permitted to bring any hard copy or electronic documentation into the exam.
•   This prohibition includes notes, books, or any other materials. Internet access will be strictly controlled. Documentation that ships with JBoss EAP is available during the exam.
•  Red Hat reserves the right to make changes to the exam format, including timing and the policies above. Such changes will be made public in advance through revisions to this document.

Red Hat System Administration I (RH124)

Red Hat System Administration I provides a foundation for students 

wishing to become full-time Linux system administrators by introducing 

key command line concepts and other enterprise-level tools. These 

concepts are further developed in the follow-on course, Red Hat System 

Administration II (RH134).

Ø Access the command line :

 Log in to a Linux system and run simple commands using the shell.

Ø Manage files from the command line :

 Copy, move, create, delete, and organize files from the bash shell prompt. 

Ø Get help in Red Hat Enterprise Linux :

Resolve problems by using online help systems and Red Hat support utilities.
 
Ø Create, view, and edit text files :
 
Create, view, and edit text files from command output or in an editor. 
Ø Manage local Linux users and groups :
 
Manage local Linux users and groups, and administer local password policies

Ø Control access to files with Linux file system permissions :

Set Linux file system permissions on files and interpret the security effects of different permission settings.

Ø Monitor and manage Linux processes:

Obtain information about the system, and control processes running on it.

 Control services and daemons :

Control and monitor network services and system daemons using system

 

      Ø Configure and secure OpenSSH service:

     Access and provide access to the command line on remote systems securely using OpenSSH

   Ø Analyze and store logs:

    Locate and accurately interpret relevant system log files for troubleshooting purposes.

   

ØManage Red Hat Enterprise Linux networking:

     Configure basic IPv4 networking on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems. 

   

ØArchive and copy files between systems:

    Archive files and copy them from one system to another. 

Ø Install and update software packages

   Download, install, update, and manage software packages from Red Hat and yum package repositories.

   

ØAccess Linux file systems

  Access and inspect existing file systems on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system.



  

Ø  Use virtualized systems

    Create and use Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtual machines with KVM and libvirt.


     

Ø Comprehensive review

     Practice and demonstrate the knowledge and skills learned in this course.
